Representing a fresh new direction in contemporary Gospel music,CLAUDJA BARRY has just released her brandnew CD11LOVE HIM FOREVER". After many years as a contemporary recording artist CLAUDJA BARRY has finally fulfilled a life long dream with this, her first ever gospel recording.
Born in Jamaica and raised in Toronto Canada,CLAUDJA BARRY was presented the opportunity,at a very early age,to do a national TV show for CFTO in Toronto. She also became the first woman of color to receive a modeling contract from Eaton's of Canada. These activities gained her instant recognition.
Claudja however wanted to see the world She made the decision to go to Europe and study music and language. While pursuing that plan in Germany, she was offered a recording contract with Lollipop Productions, which resulted in the recording of numerous albums. Success was immediate and is reflected by her numerous Gold and Platinum Awards from all over the world.
Her concert activities in some of the best known arenas and concert halls around the globe, included performances for Pierre Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, and Helmut Kohl, Chancellor of Germany,as well as royalty from the various houses around Europe. Claudja was honored with a number of Junos [Canada's Grammy] and her induction in the Canadian BLACK MUSIC HALL OF FAME.
Still with such a hectic lifestyle Claudja felt there must be more to life, other than traveling and working. Her upbringing in a Christian home, and the love of an Adventist mother was never forgotten. On a visit to a church with her mother, the question was asked .... "what does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul"?She began to search for answers. Attending church became important, but it was at an evangelistic meeting that Claudja decided to be baptized. She has since joined the community SDA church in Englewood NJ. "LOVE HIM FOREVER" is about the love of Jesus forever. Having just returned from South Africa and her debut at the SDASA[Seventh Day Adventists of south Africa] annual conference in Pietersburg, where her performances were attended by more than 1500 people each day, CLAUDJA BARRY plans to be in Jamaica and Canada for more concerts this summer. Appearances in Europe are planned for late September and October.
